UPEI is one of the two universities on this Island .It is a public university in Charlottetown city, Prince Edward Island and was founded in 1969. The university offers 7 streams of education for Canadian and international students .It includes various under graduation, post graduation, and postdoctoral programs.

St. Dunstan’s University is a former university and was located in the town of Charlottetown. This university merged with Prince of Wales College and formed UPEI in the year 1969.
