How to choose battery for Quadcopter/Multirotors UAVs

Welcome again!!! Today we will discuss about the main part of the whole Quadcopter/Multirotors system. Here we will learn about How to choose battery for Quadcopter/Multirotors UAVs. Before knowing about the Batteries you must know the basics of Quadcopters or UAV or Multirotors. As we are discussing about what is battery so we must know the about the system on which we want to implement it.
How to choose battery for Quadcopter/Multirotors UAVs
Selection of battery is very important and intellectual step for making and Quadcopter\Multirotors. Because it support your design and purpose of designing drones like Surveillance, Parceling, Videography, Pharmacy, Traffic Control etc. Battery is providing required power to whole system of Drone. Shortly we can say that every part of your drone is directly depends on various parameter of battery like Voltage, Current, Energy Density, Longevity, Load Characteristics, power loss, Self-Discharge rate, C-Rating, No. of Cells required, Terminal Connectors etc. We’ll discuss each and every parameter below.
Power/Weight ratio of Battery
We need battery which is sufficient for our requirement and less in weight because that enhance our drone’s Performance and battery consumption. That’s Power/Weight Ratio should be high. There are various Batteries are available in the market if you want to know about Batteries. Now a days LIPO Batteries have much high Power/Weight ratio as compared to other batteries.
Battery Charge/Discharge current rate & capacity
Before selection of any battery for our quadcopter we have to check its charging and discharging rate, the charging rate is the minimum current provide to the battery from charger to make it charge at sufficient time. Similarly the discharging current rate is also matter in it is maximum current out from the battery.
Charging Current Rate of Battery is in the form 1C, 2C, 5C etc.
That means Charging current rate = 1* 2200mAh
Similarly discharging rate is also in the form of 25C, 50C, 75C etc.
Discharging Current rate = 25* 2200mAh
No. of cells in Battery
Before selection of any battery we have check how much voltage needed to operate our system, LIPO Batteries are available in the market, combination of multiple cells each cell having 3.8V and it is connected in series and parallel as per our requirement. The no of cells and their configuration is given at the top of the battery.
3S1P means 3 cells and 1 cell is connected parallel to others
Battery Connectors
There are various Battery Connectors are available in the market like XT60, TPlug, Bullet connectors etc. the selection of perfect connector is very important because if we want to make an adjustable connection between our components like ESC and Motors, Battery and PDB, PDB and ESC etc. And the thickness of connector wire is also matters w.r.t. Maximum current flow through it.
C-rating of any Battery
It denotes how much capacity of battery or we can say that the current drown from the battery without making any damage inside it. That parameter is very important from safety point of view that is how much load is connected to the battery.
Buy
SNAPTAIN WiFi FPV Drone with 720P HD Camera, Voice Control Live Video RC Quadcopter with Altitude Hold, Gravity Sensor Function, RTF One Key Take Off/Landing, Compatible w/VR
For Example:
Suppose its rating is 25C = 25*2200 mAh
That means maximum current drawn from battery is 55 Ah. If suppose that the current drawn limit exceeds then the battery may suffer from some internal damages.
