# Oncology Programs – University of Alberta 

The University of Alberta offers two programs related to oncology. These are

  1. Master of Science in Oncology
  2. Doctor of Philosophy  (PhD )in Oncology

1. Master of Science in Oncology

This is a Masters’s Degree with span of 2 years. This Oncology program has two intakes in a year. One is in January and the other in May. There are Program Requirements in order to get admission into this program and are dependent on the recommendation of the Graduate Coordinating Committee. Major requirements include course work, completion of a research project, and preparation of a thesis.

Fee Structure: Each year cost

If it is Course based then the cost is around  CAN $10,500 and for Thesis based, it is CAN $9,465 .

2. Doctor of Philosophy  (PhD )in Oncology

This is a minimum 2-year program. For this program, students must pass an oral candidacy examination that consists of a defence of the research proposal including general medical physics.

Basic Requirements 

Aspirants are required to take a candidacy exam that consists of a written grant proposal and an oral defense of the proposal including peripheral areas.

They are required to prepare a thesis to describe their research results.

The tuition fee for this Oncology Program is CAD$9,250.00 (US$ 6,990) per year

# Oncology Programs – University of Calgary

The University of Calgary offers Radiation Oncology Physics which is a post-doctoral diploma of two years as a full-time student and has 6 courses in total. The Program has two intakes in a year, one in September and another in January. Get the application deadline dates here for both the intakes.

Talking about English Language Proficiency, if you are an international and English is not your first language, you need to fulfill the English language proficiency requirement in one of the following ways:

  • TOEFL : Minimum score of 86 with no section less than 20 (Internet-based).
